SEAL02 chip replacement is a per-chip add-on to our Bitdeer Sealminer A2 hashboard repair. We hold the part in the USA, so a chip-level repair on an A2 does not sit waiting on a shipment. The chip is not sold on its own: it is fitted at component level, the board is read chip by chip on our own tester afterwards, and it goes back proved under load.
SEAL02 is Bitdeer's own SHA-256 ASIC, fabricated at TSMC and used in no other manufacturer's hardware. A Sealminer A2 hashboard carries 153 of them, 459 in a complete machine, and Bitdeer publishes no datasheet, no distributor part number and no spare-parts channel for the chip or the board it sits on. For most of this machine's life the only answer to a dead chip was a repair ticket with the factory. Having the part on the shelf is what turns that into an ordinary bench repair with a date on it.
How this add-on works
One chip is already covered by the Sealminer A2 hashboard repair itself. This line is for the ones after that: when diagnostics come down to more than a single failed SEAL02, it covers the part and the work of fitting each additional chip, one add-on per chip. It attaches to the repair and cannot be ordered on its own — a chip in an envelope does not fix a board, and nothing is replaced on your board before you have heard the count and agreed to it.
What the part is
| Specification | Details |
|---|---|
| Package marking |
SEAL02 on the first line, with a lot and date code underneath that differs from batch to batch |
| Made by | Bitdeer's own design, fabricated at TSMC. No public datasheet and no distributor part number |
| Algorithm | SHA-256 (Bitcoin) |
| Fitted to | Sealminer A2 hashboard, part number B4D3A2-HB-513-V1_3-20241230: 153 chips on a board, arranged as 51 groups of three, three boards to a machine |
| Our stock | Held in the USA. Nobody sells this chip over the counter, and no Sealminer hashboard is sold as a spare at any price, so stock is the whole difference between a repair and a dead third of a machine |
| Availability | Fitted by us as part of Sealminer A2 hashboard repair, priced per additional chip replaced. Not sold separately |
How a failed SEAL02 shows up
Not as a chip count. The A2 never shows its owner one: the User Panel lists the three boards with a hashrate and a temperature each, so what you see is a board sitting at zero, or one that has settled below its neighbours and never recovers. The count exists, and we read it — on HashProbe, the tester we built for this board, all 153 chips answer or they do not, and the ones that do not are named. Because the chips sit in groups of three, one dead chip commonly takes its two neighbours off the air with it, which is why a board can lose far more rate than a single failure sounds like. What the miner shows and what each symptom means is set out on the Sealminer A2 hashboard repair page.
Before you assume it is a chip
A board that fades as the machine warms and comes back after a night off is usually a thermal path problem rather than silicon. A machine that restarts a few minutes after reaching full rate may be the board or may be what feeds it, and from the dashboard those look identical. Either way the chip count on the bench settles it before any part is fitted. One more thing worth knowing: Bitdeer lists SEAL02 for the A2 Pro as well, but we have not had a Pro board on the bench, so ask before assuming the part and the work transfer to it.
