Repair guide last verified:

🧩Add-on to a repair, not a standalone item. We do not ship chips — the chip is installed on your board during the repair.
Every hashboard repair includes a set number of chip replacements; the number is shown on the repair page for that board. This add-on covers replacements beyond that number.

The final count is known only when the repair is complete.
USA-based repair lab (no outsourcing)
🔬Component-level diagnostics and repair (ASIC chips, LDOs, power circuits, SMD parts)
🔥Burn-in testing under load before return shipment
▸How to ship your hardware
📍Ship to: Antminer Repair LLC, 2141 NE 51st Ct, Apt E, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33308
📝Put a printed note inside the box — your name or company, return address, phone and email. Without it the repair can stall.
🫧Hashboards: at least 8 layers of bubble wrap on every side, reinforced corners, sturdy sealed box. No sealed air pillows — they burst in transit.
📦Whole miners: original packaging with foam inserts if you have it. No cables or accessories — anything that is not packing material is not returned.
📨After shipping send us the tracking number, package weight and dimensions.
⚠️Damage caused by improper packing is not covered by the warranty.
ℹ️ Final repair cost may change after diagnostics. We always confirm before proceeding.

The A3197 is the SHA-256 hashing ASIC behind Canaan’s current compact and A15-generation machines. Packages carry the marking A3197MC, while the machines’ own firmware identifies the core as A3197S — two names for the same silicon series, which is worth knowing before concluding a part is “wrong” for your board.

Compatibility

Quality and Testing

Every chip is validated on the bench before it ships. The A3197 carries its temperature and voltage sensing on the die itself — which means a marginal chip cannot hide: it shows up in the machine’s own per-chip telemetry the moment the board runs. We hold parts to that same standard before they leave the lab, so the array you see after installation reads flat.

Installation Notes

This is a BGA component. Replacement requires hot-air or infrared rework, correct reballing, and post-install verification against the machine’s per-chip readout — it is not a socketed or hand-solderable part. A failed A3197 also cannot be bypassed or masked in firmware: because its PVT sensor is on the die, one corrupted chip will keep triggering the board’s protection logic until it is physically replaced. If you would rather not do the rework yourself, one chip replacement is already included in the flat price of our Avalon Q repair service.

Ordering more than a handful, or matching a chip to an unusual board revision? Contact the lab with your board photos and firmware readout — we will confirm fit before you commit.
